Eloy Jimenez Likely To Be Shut Down Until Spring Training
6 years agoChicago White Sox outfield prospect Eloy Jimenez (quadriceps) is likely to be shut down until spring training after suffering an injury in the Dominican Republic winter league. It doesn't sound like a serious injury or anything that will affect his availability for the start of next season, but it's something to watch. Jimenez is the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball heading into 2019, and he should be up with the Pale Hose early in the season. The 22-year-old hit .337/.384/.577 with 22 home runs and 75 RBI with Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte in 108 games on the farm last year.
