Eloy Jimenez Close To Being Called Up
6 years agoChicago White Sox outfield prospect Eloy Jimenez is "really close" to being promoted to the major leagues, according to player development director Chris Getz. “He has done nothing but perform,” Getz said. “This guy’s been able to drive the ball to all fields. He’s been able to set up pitchers. ... He’s got a pretty good arm. We just want to make sure he’s as ready as possible. We’re getting really close." Since being promoted from Double-A to Triple-A in late June, Jimenez is hitting .376 with eight home runs, nine doubles and 18 RBI in 29 games. The White Sox offense could use a boost, and Jimenez would surely give that to them. Jimenez is the third-ranked prospect in all of baseball, so if he's not already owned in deep mixed leagues, pick him up and stash him now.
