5 years agoNew York Mets closer Edwin Diaz (shoulder), who left a game last weekend with right trapezius tightness, threw a successful bullpen session on Tuesday and is available to pitch on Wednesday against the Cubs. Diaz hasn't been nearly as effective this year as he was with Seattle in 2018, but he should return to his ninth-inning role down the stretch. The hard-throwing right-hander has an underwhelming 5.55 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 25 saves and 80 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings. Diaz has a 1-6 record in his first year in Queens.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
