Eagles Trade For Golden Tate
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles are trading for Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate on Tuesday in exchange for a third-round pick, according to a source. Tate had been a WR2 for fantasy owners but hadn't topped 50 yards or scored since Sept. 30. The move will boost his fantasy value and put him back as more of a reliable WR2 behind Alshon Jeffery. Nelson Agholor, who predictably faded with Jeffery's return, is hurt the most by this trade and can be left to the waiver wire in most formats. Jordan Matthews also takes a hit and will now be fourth on the depth chart in Philly. In Detroit, Tate's departure is excellent news for both Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones. TJ Jones should now enter three-receiver sets and might be worth a pickup in deeper PPR leagues.
