Eagles Open To Extension For Carson Wentz
6 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles executive Howie Roseman and owner Jeffrey Lurie have been open about their desire to sign quarterback Carson Wentz to a long-term contract extension. Lurie said the team "absolutely" would be willing to ink Wentz sooner than later. “This guy is going to be a great player for the Philadelphia Eagles for a long time,” Roseman said. “I couldn’t be more excited about him and his future in Philadelphia.” The 26-year-old is entering his fourth season in the NFL and has mounting injury concerns after finishing the last two seasons on the sidelines. He finished with 3,072 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a career-best 69.6 completion percentage in 11 games last year. His status for organized team activities and minicamp is unclear as he recovers from his back injury. Wentz has elite QB1 upside, but fantasy owners will be reluctant to take him early in drafts.
