Eagles Looking At Devonta Freeman, Other Veteran Backs
5 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles are looking to add a veteran running back and Devonta Freeman, Carlos Hyde and LeSean McCoy are on their radar, according to sources. The Eagles think Miles Sanders is a Pro Bowl-caliber player and envision Boston Scott adding useful depth, but they want to add to a group that also includes Corey Clement. Philly has reached out to Freeman, and he has a fun in running backs coach Duce Staley, who has a relationship with Freeman from his days at Florida State. The 28-year-old also has suitors in the Seahawks and Jets, however. Hyde is coming off the most productive season, rushing for 1,070 yards on 245 carries (4.4 YPC) and six touchdowns with the Texans. No matter which veteran back the Eagles choose, they shouldn't get in the way too much of Sanders' claim as the team's lead back.
