Eagles Exercise Carson Wentz's Option
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles exercised the fifth-year option for quarterback Carson Wentz on Monday. The second overall pick in 2016, Wentz has completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 10,152 yards, 70 touchdowns and a 92.5 QB rating in 40 career games. The 26-year-old started in Week 1 in his rookie season, but injuries have cut short his seasons the last two years. He set the franchise record for a single season in 2017 with 33 touchdowns in 13 starts in his second season in the NFL. The injuries have caused his price to drop in fantasy leagues, but when healthy he's showed he can be among the best signal-callers in the NFL.
