Dustin Pedroia Expected To Make Spring Debut This Week
6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) is expected to make his spring training debut this week. He was limited to only three games in 2018 after undergoing left knee surgery in October of 2017. Pedroia could play as soon as Thursday, but manager Alex Cora may hold him out until Friday as a precaution. The Red Sox also have Eduardo Nunez and Brock Holt who are plenty capable of filling in at the keystone, so anything the BoSox can get from Pedroia this year will be an added bonus. There's no reason to roster Pedroia in mixed leagues because of the injury risk.
