3 years agoThe San Diego Padres activated relief pitchers Drew Pomeranz (lat, shoulder) and Pierce Johnson (triceps) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned relievers James Norwood and Miguel Diaz in corresponding moves. Pomeranz has been out seven weeks with a left shoulder impingement and lat tightness, but he was dominant with a 1.98 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings before the injury. Johnson missed just under two weeks with tight triceps inflammation. He had a decent 3.57 ERA and 32/9 K/BB in 22 2/3 innings before his trip to the IL. Mark Melancon has settled in as San Diego's closer, but Pomeranz could have some value in saves/holds leagues as a left-handed setup man.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
