Dougie Hamilton Nets Fourth Goal Of The Season
4 years agoCarolina Hurricanes defenseman Dougie Hamilton found the back of the net for the fourth time this season in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Dallas. Fellow blueliner Haydn Fleury also scored to open his account for the year. Hamilton recorded a game-high nine shots in the loss with two blocks and two hits. The 27-year-old has set all kinds of records with his assists this season, but he's had awful puck luck so far as he went into Saturday's matchup with a 2.7 shooting percentage for the year. It's by far the worst he's had in his career, so it's only logical that Hamilton finally starts to add some goals to his tally. He potted just one goal in his first 25 appearances this season but has managed to add three in 11 outings since then. Hamilton is currently red-hot with only one pointless effort since the start of last month.
