Doug Marrone Will Be Fired After Week 17
5 years agoJacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone has been informed that he will be dismissed following the Week 17 season finale against the Colts, according to sources. This doesn't come as a huge surprise with the Jaguars sitting at 5-10 and in last place in the AFC South with one game remaining in the season. Marrone led the club to a 10-6 record and an appearance in the AFC title game in 2017, but things have gone downhill quickly in the last couple years. The Jags finished 5-11 last year and were forced to trade cornerback Jalen Ramsey at the trade deadline this year. Big free-agent acquisition Nick Foles broke his collarbone in Week 1 and was benched upon his return. Jacksonville has the weapons on offense with Leonard Fournette, D.J. Chark, Dede Westbrook and Chris Conley, but they'll need to rebuild things on the defensive side.
