5 years agoNew York Mets first baseman/outfielder Dominic Smith (thumb) was diagnosed with a right thumb sprain after undergoing an MRI exam on Monday. He said he was available off the bench on Tuesday, so he could return to the lineup on Wednesday. The 23-year-old has just 63 at-bats on the year because he's blocked by Peter Alonso at first base, but he's hitting a robust .365/.467/.571 with three home runs and eight RBI.
