6 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers placed catcher Russell Martin on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with lower back inflammation and recalled backstop Rocky Gale from the minors in a corresponding move. The 36-year-old Martin was sharing playing time with Austin Barnes behind the plate and he was hitting .333/.500/.600 through 22 plate appearances. Martin has very little fantasy value as the backup to Barnes. Gale has very little experience in the majors and will temporarily serve as Barnes' backup.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
