Dodgers Not Closing The Door On Kenley Jansen
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the door isn't closed on the team re-signing relief pitcher Kenley Jansen. Roberts said the Dodgers could have five relievers in the mix for saves in 2022, so Jansen won't be guaranteed the everyday ninth-inning gig if he decides to return to LA. Blake Treinen is currently the favorite for most save chances, but Daniel Hudson, Alex Vesia and Brusdar Graterol could also be involved. Jansen, a three-time All-Star from 2016-18, was better last year with 38 saves, a 2.22 ERA and 1.04 WHIP while striking out 86 and walking 36 in 69 innings over 69 appearances for the Blue. Despite his age, 34, Jansen would be fantasy relevant as a closing option if he returns to one of the best teams in baseball.
