Dodgers Interested In Brad Hand
4 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers are showing interest in free-agent left-handed reliever Brad Hand, according to a source. Hand could fit into the bullpen in Blake Treinen's role if he doesn't re-sign with the team. The southpaw converted all 16 of his save chances for the Indians in 2020, but he'd lose significant fantasy value with a move to LA, where he'd be more of a setup arm ahead of closer Kenley Jansen, at least to begin the season. Despite Hand's excellent 2020 season, he showed a decline in his fastball velocity and whiff rate, but he still struck out a third of the hitters he faced. Los Angeles could be one of the few teams that could offer Hand close to the $10 million option that all 30 teams declined to pick up when he was put on waivers last month.
