Dodgers Designate Shane Greene For Assignment
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers designated relief pitcher Shane Greene for assignment on Wednesday. He will now go on waivers. The 32-year-old veteran joined the Dodgers in late August. He wasn't horrible out of the pen for the team, posting a 4.05 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP over 6.2 innings, but the Dodgers didn't have much of a need for him going forward. Greene was solid in a setup role for the Atlanta Braves last year, pitching to a 2.60 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP while tallying nine holds. We might not see him in the majors again this year, but you can safely expect for a bullpen-needy team to approach him at some point next year.
