Dodgers Acquire Yonny Hernandez From The A's
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers acquired infielder Yonny Hernandez from the Oakland Athletics on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. Hernandez played in just 12 major-league games with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2022, going 2-for-24 (.083) with no home runs or RBI, two stolen bases and four strikeouts. In his rookie season in 2021 with the Texas Rangers, he slashed .217/.315/.252 with no homers, six RBI, 15 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 43 games (166 plate appearances). The 24-year-old will strictly give the Dodgers some more infield depth in the organization. The switch-hitter batted .241/.349/.324 with a homer, 31 RBI, 49 runs scored and 30 stolen bases in 71 games at two Triple-A levels in the minors last season.
