Dirk Koetter Gone In Tampa
6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers relieved head coach Dirk Koetter of his duties on Sunday after their Week 17 loss to the Falcons. Koetter was with the team for three seasons and finished his stint with a 19-29 record after going 5-11 in 2018. Koetter led the Bucs to their first winning season since 2010 when they went 9-7 in his first year in 2016. The ultimate deciding factor was quarterback Jameis Winston not improving in Koetter's time as the head coach, and Tampa's defenses were perennially awful. Winston is expected to return and has solid receivers around him in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but Tampa will focus on improving their backfield and bolstering their secondary under their new head coach.
