Devonta Freeman Willing To Sit Out In 2020
5 years agoFree-agent running back Devonta Freeman thinks he's worth more than the one-year deal worth up to $4 million that he rejected from the Seahawks this week, and he insists he's willing to skip the 2020 season if his contract demands aren't met on the open market. Carlos Hyde took the deal instead in Seattle, which surely motivates Freeman even more. The 28-year-old made the Pro Bowl in 2015 and 2016 with back-to-back 1,000-yard, 11-touchdown seasons, but he's been declining ever since and has dealt with injuries the last two years before Atlanta released him. He's veteran depth at this point in his career with a bunch of tread on the tires, and he's unlikely to get a better offer than Seattle gave him. The Jets and Eagles still have some interest in him. Philly would be a better fit from a fantasy standpoint, where he'd be insurance for Miles Sanders.
