Derrius Guice Put On Injured Reserve
5 years agoThe Washington Redskins placed running back Derrius Guice (knee) on the Injured Reserve on Friday, according to a source. Guice had surgery to fix a torn meniscus in his knee on Thursday and will be out for the next six to eight weeks. He has a chance of returning later this season, but he can likely be dumped to the waiver wire in standard-sized leagues. The second-year back missed all of his rookie season with a torn ACL. Veteran Adrian Peterson will take over early-down duties moving forward, with Chris Thompson handling the pass-catching duties out of the backfield. Thompson has more fantasy appeal in PPR formats, while Peterson has limited upside in standard-scoring formats as an RB3/flex.
