2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans has emerged as a top candidate to become the Denver Broncos' next head coach. However, according to a source, former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and former Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell remain in the mix. If the Broncos want to interview Ryans again, they'll have to wait until after this Sunday's NFC Championship game. Ryans received interview requests from the Broncos, Texans, Cardinals and Colts, but he only interviewed with Denver and Houston, his former team as a player. It's believed the Broncos were prioritizing prior head-coaching experience -- none of their last three head coaches had any head-coaching experience, but Denver has kept an open mind and could go with Ryans, who also doesn't have head-coaching experience.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
