Demaryius Thomas Not Considering Retirement
6 years agoHouston Texans wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) said he wants to continue playing after suffering a torn Achilles late in the season with Houston. The 31-year-old five-time Pro Bowler will need around six months of rehab, and he's scheduled to make a non-guaranteed $14 million base salary in 2019. "My main priority right now is getting back healthy. I can still play, man. I'm not thinking about retirement. I just don't know where it will be," Thomas said. He didn't do a whole lot after being traded over from Denver, catching 23 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns in seven games. Once a yearly threat for 1,000 yards receiving, Thomas was showing signs of decline earlier this year and is unlikely to return to Houston with Keke Coutee and Will Fuller lining up next to DeAndre Hopkins.
