Demaryius Thomas Believed To Have Torn Achilles
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, Houston Texans wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles in Week 16 against the Eagles, according to a source. He was carted off the field and is undergoing more tests to confirm. It would obviously be a season-ending injury for Thomas and would put his return for the start of the 2019 season in serious jeopardy. Thomas had become a touchdown-dependent WR3 after being traded to Houston from Denver. DeAndre Hopkins is the clear lead receiver on this team, and Deandre Carter was forced into No. 2 duties. Rookies Vyncint Smith and Keke Coutee could see bigger roles the rest of the season and into the playoffs, as will rookie tight end Jordan Thomas.
