6 years agoThe Texas Rangers optioned outfielder Delino DeShields to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. General manager Jon Daniels expects DeShields to play every day down on the farm and help the big league club eventually again this year. The speedster did have seven steals in 30 games, but he was also batting just .182 with a homer and 10 RBI in the early going. Obviously, he's not worth hanging onto in mixed leagues, even if you are in need of speed. Joey Gallo should see more time in center field, and this move also might be good news for Hunter Pence, who has been surprisingly very good with the bat in his first year in Texas.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
