David Phelps Agrees With Brewers
5 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers agreed to a one-year deal with relief pitcher David Phelps on Wednesday, according to sources. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Phelps spent the 2019 season with the Blue Jays and Cubs, posting a 3.41 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 36 strikeouts and 17 walks in 34 1/3 innings over 40 relief appearances and one start. He picked up one save with the Cubs and has just six career saves in his seven seasons in the bigs. With Josh Hader and Corey Knebel (when healthy) locking down the late innings for Milwaukee, it's unlikely that Phelps will see any time in the ninth inning, leaving him with little fantasy appeal.
