David Johnson Traded To Texans In Blockbuster Deal
5 years agoFormer All-Pro running back David Johnson has been traded from the Arizona Cardinals to the Houston Texans in a blockbuster deal on Monday. The Texans will take on all of Johnson’s $13 million owed to him this year and receive a second-round pick in this year's draft as well as a fourth-round pick in next year's draft. In return, the Cardinals get wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and a fourth-round pick this year. This is great news for those that held onto Johnson in keeper/dynasty formast after Kenyan Drake took his job last season. He should immediately step into the primary role and goal-line duties, with Duke Johnson being used in a third-down and change-of-pace role. If healthy, DJ could easily rebound to RB1 status in 2020 in his new digs. With Hopkins out of the picture in Houston, Will Fuller and Kenny Stills become the team's top two wideouts, with Keke Coutee and Deandre Carter also in the mix. Expect Houston to address the position in free agency and/or the draft.
