Dany Jimenez Throws Bullpen Session
2 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Dany Jimenez (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session during the All-Star break, and his next step is to face live hitters. Jimenez has been out for over a month with a strained right shoulder, but it sounds as though he could be back in the A's bullpen shortly. Before getting injured, the 28-year-old Dominican right-hander recorded 11 saves while posting a 4.38 ERA and 1.26 WHIP while walking 12 and striking out 23 in 24 2/3 innings. Paul Sewald is the team's closer, although Matthew Festa picked up the team's most recent save last Saturday. Jimenez could see some save chances alongside Sewald when he returns, but there isn't a ton of fantasy value for a part-time closer on one of the worst teams in baseball.
