Daniel Poncedeleon, Carson Kelly Called Up
6 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals called up starting pitcher Daniel Poncedeleon and catching prospect Carson Kelly from the minors on Saturday with rosters expanding. Poncedeleon is the team's No. 29 prospect and has been great in seven outings (two starts) for the Cardinals in his rookie season. He's sporting a 2.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 18 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings. The right-hander will make the start against the Reds on Saturday and is certainly worth streaming in most leagues. Kelly has hit just .080 with two RBI in 12 games for the Cards this season and will just be a backup option to close out the year.
