Daniel Murphy Has Fractured Finger
6 years agoColorado Rockies infielder Daniel Murphy's X-rays on Saturday revealed a fracture on the tip of his left index finger, and he will see a hand specialist on Monday before a timetable for his return is revealed. The soon-to-be 34-year-old could be out for an extended period of time, so his fantasy owners need to plan for the worst. He had gone just 1-for-10 in his first two games with his new team and suffered the injury on Friday while making a play at first base. After not starting the first two games of the year, second baseman Garrett Hampson got the start on Saturday, with Ryan McMahon moving over to first base. Mark Reynolds is also an option at first base with Murphy out, but Hampson should benefit the most from Murphy's injury in fantasy.
