Daniel Murphy Doesn't Need Surgery
6 years agoColorado Rockies infielder Daniel Murphy (finger) saw a hand specialist on Thursday and will not need surgery. His broken index finger is healing well, and he might be given a new splint. Murphy could still miss decent time, but it's good news overall. He had just one hit in 10 at-bats to begin the season, but playing half his games at Coors Field will be a positive for the 34-year-old veteran. Garrett Hampson continues to see most of the time at the keystone with Ryan McMahon also injured. Mark Reynolds is seeing decent starts at first for now, too.
