6 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman Daniel Murphy wasn't in the lineup on Friday because he's dealing with a stiff back. It's unclear how serious the issue is, but for now consider him day-to-day and check back on Saturday to see if he's back in the lineup. The veteran infielder is hitting just. 237/.326/.474 with two home runs and five RBI in 38 at-bats, but he's already had one stint on the injured list. Murphy should be able to hit for a high average and can rack up counting stats at hitter-friendly Coors Field in 2019 if he can just stay on the field. If he requires another stint on the injured list, it'd be good news for both Garrett Hampson and Mark Reynolds.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
