Daniel Descalso To See More Time At Second Base
6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks infielder Daniel Descalso will see more time at second base down the stretch at the expense of Ketel Marte, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Descalso and Marte have basically been pretty close to the same player this year, but Descalso brings more of a veteran presence to the starting lineup, offers more position flexibility and has been more clutch. The 31-year-old is hitting .248/.365/.448 with 12 home runs and 55 RBI in 315 at-bats. He will gain some more value in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, while Marte loses his appeal to close out the year.
