Damian Lillard Produces 39 Points In A Losing Effort
3 years agoPortland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard had a big performance with 39 points on Tuesday against New Orleans, but his work wasn't enough in an eventual 111-97 loss. Dame hit 6-for-11 from downtown and shot 13-for-24 overall from the field with a 7-for-8 effort at the charity stripe. His night included two rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one turnover. Lillard was questionable for the game with a hamstring problem but ended up logging 40 minutes, so it appears that the injury isn't a big issue. He's been on fire lately, and Lillard will try to frustrate the Nets next on Thursday. Brooklyn owns the second-worst defensive record in the league against opposing point guards, so we could easily see a monster effort from Lillard, who is trying to do everything humanly possible to keep the Blazers in the playoff race.
