Curtis Samuel, Julius Peppers Starting On PUP
6 years agoCarolina Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel (ankle) and defensive end Julius Peppers (shoulder) did not pass their physicals and will start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Samuel will actually start on the Non-Football Injury list, and general manager Marty Hurney said the team is being cautious with the receiver. Samuel played in just nine games in his rookie season due to his ankle injury and caught only 15 passes for 115 yards and no scores. Things won't get easier for him in his second year with rookie D.J. Moore expected to immediately be a big part of the offense. Samuel is fighting an uphill battle for fantasy relevance.
