Cubs Sign Kendall Graveman
6 years agoThe Chicago Cubs signed free-agent starting pitcher Kendall Graveman (elbow) on Saturday. Graveman had Tommy John surgery earlier this year and will miss all of the 2019 season, but he'll have a $3 million option for the 2020 season. The right-hander was the Opening Day starter for Oakland last year but had a 7.60 ERA with 27 strikeouts in just 34 1/3 innings before his injury. Gravemen obviously won't be a fantasy option next year and is unlikely to be on anyone's radar in 2020 either, given his poor strikeout rate in his career.
