2 years agoThe Chicago Cubs placed shortstop Dansby Swanson (heel) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 6) with a left-heel contusion on Saturday and recalled infielder Miles Mastrobuoni from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move. Swanson will go on the shelf to close out the first half of the season after injuring his heel on Wednesday. With the All-Star break coming next week, the 29-year-old could only miss four games and be ready to go for the start of the second half next Friday. In his first season in the Windy City, Swanson will finish the first half hitting .258 (84-for-325) with 10 homers, 15 doubles, two triples, 36 RBI, four steals and 41 runs scored in 83 games. Nico Hoerner is starting at the 6 again on Saturday, with Christopher Morel getting another start at the keystone for Chicago.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
