6 years agoRecent reports that the Chicago Cubs offered third baseman Kris Bryant "a massive extension" worth "well north of $200 million" are "simply not true," according to sources. Bryant remains under control through the 2021 season, so there has been no rush on either side to work out a contract extension yet. A left shoulder injury pretty much ruined Bryant's 2018 season, as he played in only 102 games and hit .272/.374/.460 with a career-low 13 home runs, 52 RBI and 59 runs scored.
