Cubs Expected To Keep Addison Russell
6 years agoThe Chicago Cubs are likely to tender shortstop Addison Russell a contract on Friday despite his lingering off-field issues. He will still need to serve 29 days of his domestic-violence suspension to start the 2019 season and will not be paid until after May 3. 2018 was a disaster of a season for the 24-year-old, as he hit .250/.317/.340 with five home runs and 38 RBI in 130 games. After a down season in 2017, too, his fantasy stock is rapidly declining.
