Craig Kimbrel Struggling Through Delivery Issues
4 years agoChicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel was charged with four runs in two-thirds of an inning in Friday's Cactus League game against the Brewers. The veteran right-hander has been sorting through delivery issues this spring and has allowed nine runs on seven hits with two walks and one strikeout in 2 2/3 innings. Although it's still just spring training, it's not what fantasy managers want to see after Kimbrel posted a rough 5.28 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 17.4% walk rate in 2020. The good news is that the hard-throwing right-hander was better to close his season and still has the closer's job to begin the year. The 32-year-old has fallen far from the days of being a top-end fantasy closer. He's now more of a low-end second closer and will be in danger of losing his job again if he cannot find the strike zone.
