Cowboys Resume Negotiations With Dak Prescott
5 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys have resumed contract negotiations with quarterback Dak Prescott for the first time since placing the exclusive franchise tag on him, according to a source. Prescott currently has a $26.8 million salary cap charge even though he has yet to sign his franchise tender. The Cowboys are still trying to work out a long-term deal that is expected to make Prescott the highest paid QB in the league. The 26-year-old threw for a career-high 4,902 yards with 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2019, and he can also make things happen with his legs. With wide receiver Amari Cooper back in the fold as his No. 1 wideout, Prescott will be a high-end QB1 in 2020 regardless of whether he signs a long-term deal before the start of the season.
