Corey Seager 2025 Player Outlook: Swings Elite Bat With Injury Concerns
41 mins agoTexas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager enjoyed another successful campaign in 2024 as he hit at least 30 home runs for the third-straight campaign while carrying an excellent .278/.353/.512 slash line. Under the hood, his metrics suggest his production should have been closer to his stellar .327/.390/.623 line, as he generated a .289 xBA, .561 xSLG, 15.2% barrel rate, and 50.7% hard-hit rate, which were all in at least the 95th percentile among active hitters. In addition, Seager has also posted an above-average walk rate in each of his past three campaigns proving elite value in points formats as well. While his bat is one of the best in the sport, Seager has swiped just six bags over his three-year tenure with the Rangers. In addition, the two-time World Series MVP has struggled to stay on the field, as he has missed 82 games over the previous two seasons. Last summer, Seager was shut down in September due to a sports hernia operation but is expected to be ready for Spring Training. Despite his lack of speed and injury concerns, Seager's bat makes him a worthy investment at his current 41.70 ADP. However, fantasy managers should expect the infielder to spend at least one stint on the injured list.
