Corey Knebel Placed On Injured List
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Corey Knebel (lat) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday and will be out for months with a right lat strain, according to manager Dave Roberts. Knebel was removed in the ninth inning of the loss to the San Diego Padres on Friday. The good news is that Knebel won't need surgery and is expected to return this year. Left-hander Garrett Cleavinger was recalled in a corresponding move. Knebel had regained some of his form that made him an elite reliever with Milwaukee, so it's really bad timing for him and the Dodgers. LA will turn to David Price, Brusdar Graterol and Scott Alexander in late-inning setup situations ahead of closer Kenley Jansen with Knebel sidelined. The Dodgers could also get Joe Kelly (undisclosed) back soon after he didn't make an appearance all spring.
