Corey Kluber Thinks He'll Be Back This Year
6 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Corey Kluber (elbow), who is in a cast after fracturing his right elbow last week, doesn't think his 2019 season is over. He suffered a non-displaced fracture of the ulna bone, and the Indians said the right-hander will get his cast off in three weeks and will be X-rayed every week to see how his bone is healing. It typically takes four to six weeks for a bone to heal, and then Kluber will need to regain strength in his elbow and shoulder before starting a throwing program. An optimistic outlook would have him returning to games at some point in August. The two-time Cy Young winner hadn't been himself yet this year, but his fantasy owners will have to plan for the next couple months without him. The 33-year-old veteran already has a lost season, but you should keep him stashed in most leagues in hopes that he can help you once he returns.
