Corey Dickerson Not Ready For Rehab Assignment
6 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates aren't ready to send outfielder Corey Dickerson (shoulder) on a rehab assignment, according to general manager Neal Huntington. Dickerson said he is throwing and slowly building up the strength in his shoulder. The 29-year-old is making slow progress but won't be back anytime soon. He was hitting just .154 (2-for-13) with a home run and two RBI in the early going, too, so he was probably dropped in shallow mixed leagues. Starling Marte is also on the injured list, but thankfully the Bucs got Gregory Polanco (shoulder) to make his season debut on Monday. Melky Cabrera, Jason Martin and J.B. Shuck should continue to see playing time with Dickerson and Marte out, but prospect Bryan Reynolds is perhaps the most intriguing in deep mixed and NL-only affairs in the short term.
