Colts Plan To Keep Jacoby Brissett
5 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts fully intend on keeping quarterback Jacoby Brissett despite signing Philip Rivers, according to sources. Brissett's contract calls for $7 million guaranteed on Sunday and a $6 million salary in 2020, but the team considers him a special player and wants to keep him in the fold. The 27-year-old disappointed in taking over for Andrew Luck in 2019, throwing for 2,942 yards (6.6 yards per completion), 18 touchdowns and six interceptions in 15 games played. But the Colts like his makeup and he'll be a valuable backup in case Rivers continues to decline or gets injured in 2020. He'll obviously be off the fantasy radar in standard-sized leagues to begin the season as the backup, though.
