Colt McCoy Out Of QB Competition
5 years agoWashington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said that quarterback Colt McCoy (leg) could miss multiple weeks of the regular season after having three follow-up surgeries this offseason on his broken leg. That leaves Case Keenum and rookie Dwayne Haskins to split the repetitions. Keenum is probably the favorite, but he's been erratic in camp. Haskins has shown signs of his upside, but he also doesn't appear ready to be a starter in his first year. It hasn't helped that Washington's left tackle spot has become troublesome in the absence of Trent Williams. This situation could be ugly in 2019, and we'd be surprised if Haskins doesn't see some starts eventually. Keenum is an unattractive QB2 in this offense, while Haskins is simply a dynasty hold for now.
