Collin McHugh Cleared To Throw
5 years agoFree-agent pitcher Collin McHugh (elbow) was recently cleared to resume his throwing program after a tenex procedure alleviated his elbow concerns. Because of McHugh's versatility as a starter or reliever, most teams have checked in on him. The 32-year-old right-hander might not be ready for the start of the regular season, but he could be a nice late-spring signing for a team in need of a swingman for their pitching staff. McHugh had a 4.70 ERA and 1.23 WHIP while striking out 82 and walking 30 in 74 2/3 innings last year for the Astros in 35 outings (eight starts). He didn't start a single game in 2018 but made a career-high 33 starts for Houston in 2016. Until he signs with a team, he's off the fantasy radar.
