Cole Kmet Could Be A First-Round Pick
5 years agoNotre Dame tight end Cole Kmet is widely seen as the top prospect in a weak crop of tight ends in this year's draft, and one AFC coach thinks a team will have to take him in the late first round or early second round if they want him. "Big dude, can catch, knows how to use his body. He's probably one of the top inline Ys in the last couple years. Super smart. High character in every way," the coach said. Kmet had 43 catches for 515 yards and six touchdowns as a true junior last year and stands at 6-foot-6, 262 pounds. He's not a dynamic receiving threat, but he should still see plenty of playing time in his rookie season for his blocking abilities. The physicality he plays with could make him a nice red-zone weapon, but he won't be terribly enticing in redraft leagues in 2020, but it depends on which team he lands with.
