Cody Bellinger To Be Outfielder Moving Forward
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger (shoulder) returned to the lineup on Monday after missing two games with a slight dislocation of his right shoulder while diving for a ball at first base on Friday. Manager Dave Roberts said that Bellinger will be an outfielder going forward. Center fielder A.J. Pollock (elbow) is out indefinitely with a staph infection in his right elbow, so Alex Verdugo has been starting in the outfield. Bellinger has been an MVP candidate so far this year, hitting .403/.476/.815 with 14 home runs, 33 runs, 38 RBI and six stolen bases. He's a must-start anytime he's in the lineup. We doubt we've seen the last of Bellinger at first base in 2019, but he should be relegated to the outfield at least until Pollock returns.
