Cody Bellinger Day-To-Day With Calf Injury
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Cody Bellinger (calf) is listed as day-to-day after tests on his injured calf showed no structural damage or fractures, according to manager Dave Roberts. Bellinger was unavailable on Tuesday and will sit out on Wednesday, and Roberts is unsure if Bellinger will be forced to go on the injured list. A serious injury was avoided, but the 25-year-old former MVP could still wind up on the injured list with the Dodgers likely playing this one cautiously, especially with the season still less than a week old. The lefty slugger 4-for-19 with a triple, double and two RBI in the early going in 21 plate appearances, but fantasy managers need to plan for a potential placement on the injured list. Mookie Betts moved to center field on Tuesday with Bellinger out. Zach McKinstry, who has swung a hot bat in the early going, could benefit the most of Bellinger misses more time. Chris Taylor is another option to see expanded playing time in the outfield.
